Busy summer in the works for Ashcraft
While most schools are buys scouring the recruiting trails with hopes of finding prospects for their 2008 recruiting class, a handful of programs have already been looking further into the future, scouting the state's top sophomores and getting a jump on the prospects in the class of 2009.
One player that's landed on the radar of several schools from across the country is Cedar Hill's Thomas Ashcraft. The blue-chip offensive tackle prospect has the type of skills that has college recruiters drooling.
The 6-foot-5, 280-pound blue-chip is making the move from guard to left tackle this year, and he's spent most of the workouts focusing on his technique.
On the recruiting front, several schools have been sending literature. Oklahoma, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Ohio State, Florida and Texas A&M are among the programs sending mail, and Texas was one of the schools that made a recent stop by the school.
