UofL has competition for Robey
Louisville (Ky.) Trinity offensive guard/tight end Sam Robey was offered by Louisville this past spring and held just that one offer for several months. A few weeks ago, however, another school extended a scholarship offer to the 6-4, 235-pound prospect and it is a school that will give the Cardinals quite a run.
Although he lives in the city of Louisville, Robey's connections to the Cardinals' instate rival, Kentucky, are very strong. His father played for the Wildcats' basketball team in the 1970's and Robey grew up following UK basketball as a kid. When Louisville became the first school to extend him a scholarship offer, Robey acknowledged his allegiances may not factor in to his decision, but now Kentucky has also extended an offer.
Kentucky is recruiting Robey as an interior offensive lineman. Louisville initially was talking about the same position, but after attending their summer camp, the Cardinals may be looking at him as a tight end as well.
