Roberts selects Virginia Tech

It was no secret heading into his announcement today that Smithfield, Va. running back Dyrell Roberts was favoring the Hokies. In front of a crowd of media, teammates, coaches and friends, the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder selected Virginia Tech over offers from Penn State, Virginia, Connecticut, North Carolina, North Carolina State and plenty of others.
"It was a fun process and I didn't expect my decision to be as close as it got," he said. "The visit to Penn State boosted them up there, but my trip to Virginia Tech was the greatest visit I had been on."
