Succop heads special teams in '07

One aspect that goes largely unnoticed by fans is the kicking game. The South Carolina Gamecocks are one of a handful of teams that have one player handling both the kicking and punting duties. Ryan Succop had an outstanding sophomore campaign that was rewarded with his selection to the preseason All-SEC team as chosen last week by the media. The 6-foot-2, 213-pound Hickory, N.C., standout, who will likely be a Lou Groza candidate, was chosen as the first team kicker and second team punter. In today's column we take a look at USC's special teams and how one rule change could impact special teams play this season.
