Countdown: 2007 Breakout Players #2

GoBlackKnights.com With question marks still lurking regarding the Black Knights' offense coming into the 2007 season, the defense will be required to be the mainstay until the offense answers those questions. This makes any returning standout players on the defensive side of the football key performers. However, this certainly holds true for captain & senior Caleb Campbell, where the 6-foot 2, 225-pound strong safety checks in as our No. 2 Breakout Player for 2007. The Black Knights are in desperate need of a superb senior campaign from Campbell to be the defense they envision stepping on the field in 2007.
Why he'll break out: Campbell who has NFL talent, whereby many observers feel that the talented senior could be among the list of service academy graduates that have painted the NFL landscape.
But before Campbell gets comfortable with the idea of playing on Sunday's, there is some 2007 business that he must taken care of after missing the last three games of the season due to a knee injury. Even though he missed 3 games, Campbell finished 4th on the team in tackles (59), had one interception, 2 tackles for lost and one forced fumble
Although a team player, the competitive Campbell would like his name to be included among the top strong safeties in the land, such as Tom Zbikowski of the Fighting Irish.
What he's capable of: Campbell has plenty going for him - namely size, speed, and ton of experience.
