Offensive line looking for answers after scrimmage
Saturday night's scrimmage was supposed to be offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher's second opportunity to evaluate quarterbacks Xavier Lee and Drew Weatherford in game-type situations.
Instead, Fisher spent most of the night trying to figure out what happened to his offensive line.
Two days after providing enough protection for Lee and Weatherford to throw for a combined 348 yards on 25-of-36 passing, FSU's offensive linemen looked completely overwhelmed by the defense on Saturday.
They gave up a ton of sacks - seven by FSU sports information's count and 10 by defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews' estimation - and the constant pressure they allowed also contributed to several other incomplete passes.
"Hey, Joe Namath ain't gonna complete 'em if you don't protect," Fisher said. "I'm glad I wasn't playing back there."
