Practice Notebook: Dawgs on Guard
Georgia coach Mark Richt confirmed Thursday that Chris Davis and Clint Boling will start at left and right guard, respectively, for Saturday's game at Alabama. Davis has started the first three games for the Bulldogs, while Boling opened last week at right tackle in place of Chester Adams.
Richt said Boling earned his starting opportunity.
"He's not necessarily weight-room strong, but he's a sturdily-built guy," Richt said. "He never had any high school injuries. Like all those guys, we'd like him to have a year or two under his belt to do what he's doing, but so far, he's been fine. He's been strong enough to handle the physicality of the game."
Left tackle Trinton Sturdivant, center Fernando Velasco and Adams will make up the rest of Georgia's starting offensive line.
