Green deals with setback
Dayton (TX) quarterback Cody Green has quite the resolve. In fact, his head coach Jerry Stewart describes him as quite possibly the toughest and most dedicated player that he has ever coached. That's what makes the latest development so hard for Green to take.
Two weeks ago, the 6-foot-4, 210 pound junior was in the middle of leading his team to a 22-6 victory at Nacogdoches when his season changed. On the second play of the second half, his ankle seemingly gave out on him.
"The doctor in Nacogdoches was sure that it must have been broken," said Green's mother. "Cody still refused to leave his team so that we could go to the emergency room in Houston. Coach Stewart had to pretty much tell him he couldn't stay around for the rest of the game.
