Tuesday Notebook: Culliver Inching Closer
Chris Culliver showed off his blazing speed last Saturday when he broke off a 44-yard kickoff return for South Carolina against LSU in the second half.
It was the only time he touched the ball in the game.
With a 10.7 rushing average (three rushes for 32 yards) and two kickoff returns totaling 60 yards, the argument could be made that Culliver has been underutilized through the first four games.
Steve Spurrier suggested Tuesday at his weekly press conference at Williams-Brice Stadium that Culliver is closer to earning more playing time.
"If he can get out and get open, he'd get a bunch of balls coming at him," Spurrier said. "So he needs to prove it in practice. He had a pretty good practice (Monday) night. He was hustling around, trying."
