Texas at its best
How good was Colt McCoy?
The preseason expectations of consistent superhuman performances were unrealistic, but McCoy put on the kind of performance on Saturday that should quiet even the harshest critics.
The redshirt sophomore completed 23 of 30 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns, and he was just about flawless in leading the Texas offense up and down the field.
McCoy led the offense to five touchdowns on his first five possessions, and he did a terrific job of spreading the ball around to all of his receivers. Quite simply, he made it look easy.
McCoy's performance the last two weeks is the biggest reason that Texas fans should have confidence that their team could possibly run the table. If he's able to lead the offense the way he did on Saturday, or even the way he did against Oklahoma, you have to like the Horns' chances against the rest of the teams on the schedule.
