Wildcats getting closer
The Wildcats showed on Saturday that the team has enough talent to play with USC, albeit a Trojans team with some injuries. It was another loss but the Wildcats kept the game competitive.
As Mike Stoops said in his weekly press conference, the Cats had plenty of chances to put the game on ice but just didn't capitalize on those opportunities. In order for this team to be successful it needs to find a way to win the close games when these opportunities present themselves.
Something else I noticed during the game is that while Willie Tuitama is putting up pretty good completion percentage numbers, he is almost playing things too safe. This offense has plenty of options to get the ball to all the time, but it seems as though teams are able to just give up the minimal gain routes and be successful in stopping the offense.
