Richt says no disrespect intended
Georgia coach Mark Richt spent much of Sunday's weekly teleconference with reporters defending the decision to allow his players to celebrate Knowshon Moreno's first touchdown during Saturday's 42-30 win over previously ninth-ranked Florida.
Although he stated it was never his intention for the entire team to rush the field in the manner in which it did, Richt was lambasted by several local and national columnists, many of whom earlier praised the Bulldog coach two weeks after he stopped his team from jumping on the Vanderbilt "V."
"People that know me well enough know that I don't try to disrespect anybody," Richt said. "This isn't what happened at Vanderbilt. We didn't stomp on anyone else's logo at the end of the game because that definitely is a slap in the face."
