Jordan Steffy speaks
Terps junior quarterback Jordan Steffy visited yesterday with the media for the first time since a concussion at Rutgers put him on the shelf for a month.
Ralph Friedgen said the quarterback competition will be open this week, and both Steffy and Chris Turner took first team reps on Monday and Tuesday in practice. Still, Turner holds the edge after finishing the Clemson game strong and showing an ability to open up the passing offense in the last month.
Steffy has been cleared by UM medical staff following his second concussion at College Park in four years, but last night he referenced past concussions before he arrived at Maryland.
Steffy, who toiled for three years to get the starting job before losing it to the injury, is extremely frustrated with how the season has gone. But he praised Turner on Tuesday though he still considers it his team.
