The Hokies played host to a number of talented prospects in the state of Virginia last weekend. Virginia Beach (Va.) Landstown running back Sterlin Phifer made the trip to Blacksburg, his second visit of the year. Did he come away impressed?
"It was a good visit," he said. "It was more of the same thing I was last time. The fan base there is real good. I liked it overall. It was a wonderful experience.
"I thought the defense played really well and the offense played great. If I went there I'd play running back and that was good too. I believe I could help them if I were to go there."

Phifer has been on a handful of visits in recent weeks. Besides Virginia Tech, the junior went to Maryland and Rutgers.
