Rivals.com recruiting analyst Barton Simmons has been scouting all of the all-star action this week in Florida as players prepare for the Under Armour and Offense-Defense all-star games.

Here is Simmons' breakdown of the best of the best at each position for the Offense-Defense all-stars along with some of the week's rising prospects.

Offense-Defense Best of the Best

QUARTERBACK Matt Scott Corona (Calif.) Centennial, Arizona Commit It has taken a couple of days for a leader to emerge among three good quarterbacks for the West team but it looks as though Scott has taken charge. He has gotten consistently better at each practice and is looking very comfortable in the offense. If he gets in a rhythm he will be tough to defend. Fast Riser: None

RUNNING BACK Devoe Torrence, Massillon (Ohio) Washington, Ohio State Commit This is a difficult position to single one player out in. There is a very diverse and talented group and each brings something a little different to the table. Torrence is a back with the total package that consistently looked sharp hitting the hole and getting to the second level. Fast Riser: Jamal Womble, Sierra Vista (Ariz.) Buena, North Carolina Commit

WIDE RECEIVER Jeff Fuller, McKinney (Texas) Boyd, Texas A&M Commit Wide receiver is a very strong position group in Ft. Lauderdale this week and Fuller has been the most dominant of anybody. He has used his great size to bully defenders while still making the routine and the spectacular catch. He is a big matchup problem for most defensive backs. TIGHT END Steven Figueroa, Phoenix (Ariz.) Desert Vista, Arizona State Commit It has been a close battle all week between Figueroa and his teammate Matt Branch as the top tight end on the West team. Figueroa has been a more consistent and productive receiver in the passing game but Branch has the size to impact the running game more. For now the nod goes to Figueroa, but the test for Branch will be how many waves he can make blocking. Fast Riser: Steven Figueroa

OFFENSIVE TACKLE Bobby Massie, Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy, Virginia Tech Commit Massie edged out Cordy Glenn for the top offensive tackle honor because of his mobility and consistency. Massie does not face anything close to this talent at the high school level so his production has been impressive. Glenn has loads of upside as well and the two form an impressive pair of bookends. OFFENSIVE GUARD/CENTER Alameda Ta'amu, Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach, Washington Commit Ta'amu showed a lot of versatility playing all over the offensive line. He was the most consistent performer for the West and one of the few blockers that could slow down Armond Armstead. Fast Riser: David DeCastro, Bellevue (Wash.) Bellevue, Stanford Commit

DEFENSIVE END Keith Wells, Gainesville (Ga.) Gainesville, Florida State Commit Wells, Earl Okine and Glenn Harbin are all similar in that they are long, active and athletic ends that give offensive tackles fits. Wells stood out the most due to his high motor and his disruptiveness in the both the run and the quick passing game. Fast Riser: Keith Wells and Earl Okine, Gainesville (Fla.) DEFENSIVE TACKLE Armond Armstead, Elk Grove (Calif.) Pleasant Grove, USC Commit Armstead was one of the most dominating players on either team over the course of practice week. He beat offensive linemen on bull-rushes, swim moves, quick slants and any other path he could find. He even was effective rushing the passer as an end. Fast Riser: Micanor Regis, Pahokee (Fla.) Pahokee, Miami Commit

LINEBACKER Marcus Dowtin, Fork Union (Va.) Fork Union Military Academy, Georgia Commit Dowtin has shown the complete package this week. He is very strong but is proportioned well enough to carry even more weight. He has a good feel for pass drops and good ball skills. He also hits like a ton of bricks. Fast Riser: None

CORNERBACK Aaron Hester, Compton (Calif.) Dominguez, UCLA Commit Standing deceptively at six feet, Hester uses his long arms and great instincts to re-route defenders and put on coverage clinics. His has locked down the majority of the West receiving corps and has had some great battles with Jeff Fuller. Fast Risers: Matt Brown, Hightstown (N.J.) Peddie School

SAFETY Nick Moody, Philadelphia (Pa.) Roman Catholic, Florida State Commit At 6-1, 218-pounds and sub-4.5 speed, Nick Moody is a dream of a football prospect. With those numbers you don't even have to hear what position he plays. This week Moody has made it clear that he is more than capable of patrolling the defensive backfield at safety because he has such good hips and is so active.
