Quarterback a priority for Wildcats in 2009
Northwestern collected the signatures of 20 new football players last Wednesday, addressing needs at several positions. The Wildcats picked up five new offensive linemen, four defensive backs, four wide receivers and three linebackers in their Class of 2008, as well as a pair of defensive linemen, a running back and a superback.
But the one position conspicuously absent in the group is quarterback, the most important one on the field. But while Northwestern failed to land a single signal caller in its incoming class of recruits, the Wildcats are already showing that the position will be a priority for 2009.
