Bonner looking to breakout
In baseball there is a five-tool player.
In football there is Wade Bonner.
The redshirt freshman for Mississippi State seems to be able to do it all. Bonner has already practiced at cornerback, safety, wide receiver and this year will try running back and kick returner for the Bulldogs.
"We've always known that Wade was an explosive player," said special teams coach Reed Stringer. "He was an explosive player when he played safety and he moved to running back and is an explosive player there for us. He did some good things in the spring."
The 5-10, 180-pounder from Mason, Tenn., believes practicing on both sides of the ball will benefit him later in his career.
"It's been all right," Bonner said of moving around. "It's helped me understand the game more. I feel like I can play both positions, defense or offense. It'll help me out in the long run. I just give all the glory to God for giving me the ability to play offense or defense."
