Notebook: Lots of freshmen to play
With the season-opener just two days away, there are still plenty of questions surrounding the 2008 Auburn football team, most notably, who will be the starting quarterback.
While that decision and several more won't be announced until right before kickoff of Saturday night's game against Louisiana-Monroe, there are other unknowns that are starting to come into focus - namely which freshmen will play in the opener.
Tuberville said Thursday he plans to play at least a dozen newcomers Saturday, which includes five redshirt freshmen: wide receiver Quindarius Carr, safety Mike Slade, linebacker Adam Herring, offensive lineman Jared Cooper and punter Clinton Durst.
