Another big offer for 2010's Brown
Just more than a week ago junior running back Corey Brown picked up a verbal offer from Ohio State. Today the talented prospect from Springfield (Pa.) Cardinal O'Hara received an offer from the Buckeyes' biggest rival.
The 6-foot, 171-pound back received an email from the coaches at Michigan, informing him that the Wolverines are putting a full ride on table.
"Yes, Michigan emailed me today," Brown confirmed. "I got it this morning and it was right to the point. It said it was from Rich Rodriguez and they said they would be offering.
"Schools couldn't send the written offers out yesterday because it was a holiday (Labor Day) so I should be getting most of them either tomorrow or sometime soon."
Brown has now received offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Illinois, Maryland, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Rutgers, among others.
He said he expects more to come in the very near future.
"I know Florida is supposed to offer soon," Brown explained. "Notre Dame and UCLA are supposed to as well, and there are a couple more. I really can't remember all of them."
Brown attended a game on Monday and was able to take in some of the other action across the country over the weekend.
Did anyone impress him with their performance?
"I went to the Rutgers-Fresno State game yesterday and I had a good time," Brown said. "It's always a shame when the team you went to go see loses but it was a good game. I talked to Greg Schiano a little but he mostly talked to my mom. I did talk to their running back coach, Coach (Gary) Brown. He's a really cool guy.
"I got a chance to watch UCLA-Tennessee and West Virginia-Villanova on TV. I watched some other games, too.
"A lot of schools impressed me but UCLA was a shocker. That was a good upset and they really played well. They probably caught my eye the most."
Brown said the Bruins have sent mail and he expects to keep in contact with their coaching staff as the season moves forward.
"I don't really have any favorites right now. I probably won't until I take more visits. I really haven't visited many schools so I don't know enough yet."
