Stewart hoping Thursday night 'Devine'
If Bill Stewart has his way Thursday night, his team will block and tackle and he and his staff will figure out ways to get the ball into Noel Devine's hands more.
"Yeah, I wish you hadn't brought that up," an upbeat Stewart told a Big East Teleconference audience Monday morning. "He needs to get the ball more. But to get the ball more, you can't have just 54 plays a game.
"Remember what I said earlier, we want him to touch the ball 18-22 times a game with 5-7 of them coming on flair passes out of the backfield. "He's strong enough to do that. We gotta get him in the rhythm and flow of the game. We were off last week, but ECU had a lot to do with that. Still, we've got to get the ball into the little guy's hands."
