Wilson piling up offers early in process
Every Sept. 1, college coaches are permitted to extend written offers to members of that year's junior class. Typically, this means that those juniors considered to be the best prospects in the state will have a number of offers by the time the second week of September rolls around.
Well, it's mid-September and Haltom head coach Scott Hafley already has a box full of offers with class of 2010 defensive end Reggie Wilson's name on them.
It's no wonder since the 6-foot-3, 236-pound Wilson was considered one of the top players in the 2010 class going into this season. As a sophomore, Wilson registered over 80 tackles, six sacks and 13 tackles for loss in earning District 5-5A Sophomore of the Year honors. He's off to a good start this season as well with 14 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks and two quarterback hurries. In fact, Wilson is now seeing action at offensive tackle on every other series in order to bolster the Buffaloes' offensive line.
