Three lead for Conway
Boston College has been a favorite of offensive tackle Henry Conway for a while now, and the talented lineman from Cleveland (Ohio) Shaker Heights is undoubtedly near the top of the Eagles' recruiting board at the position. Has anything changed in recent weeks or are things pretty much the same?
Shaker Heights is 4-3 on the season and is coming off a tough loss. Conway is hoping to help his team rebound in time for the playoffs.
He admits he got off to a slow start in his first three games, but he has been satisfied with his performance of late. He told EagleAction.com that his strength and play recognition has improved, and he's working on becoming a more tenacious player.
"I'm talking to pretty much the same schools," Conway explained. "I've started to hear from Syracuse more. The coaching situation there doesn't affect me. It's all good as long as I get my education. If I get to the NFL I'm even happier.
"Right now Boston College, Michigan State and Michigan are my top schools. Boston College and Michigan State have offered but Michigan hasn't.
"The thing with Michigan is, they've misplaced my film so many times. They've said as soon as they see it they'll probably offer me. I'll have to wait and see what happens."
Has he taken any visits yet?
"No, I haven't," he explained. "I plan on getting to that soon. I just registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse.
"I think I'm going to go to the Michigan State-Ohio State game for an official visit. I'm going to try to set up a visit to Boston College as well."
Conway said the Boston College coaches would be making a trip to Conway's school in the near future.
"They've just been saying they want to get me up there to see them sometime. I've never been around Boston so I want to get over there and see the area. The coaches are real cool and I like them a lot. I know they're going to be a lot different than the way they are down on the field," he laughed. "They've been telling me a lot about their academics, too, because that's big there."
Conway is a three-star prospect and rated the No. 70 offensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.com.
