Giant Killer Award: Laybourn keeps making the plays

A familiar name sits on top of this weeks Giant Killer Stone Award list. Greg Laybourn combined for 12 tackles on his way to being named not only the Giant Killer award winner, but also the PAC-10 Defensive Player of the Week as well. Laybourn continues to be a run stopper for the Beaver defense, which also saw other solid performances against the Huskies.
Defensive end, Victor Butler is returning to his last season form after being hampered slightly by an injury. Butler added seven tackles, including three tackles for loss and a sack in which he teamed up with fellow end, Slade Norris. Although only one sack was officially recorded, Butler and the rest of the front seven constantly pressured Washington quarterback, Ronnie Fouch, many times hitting him right right after he released the ball.
