The Six Anchors

VandySports.com Several players played key roles in Vanderbilt's 31-24 win over the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday. This season, after every Commodore win, VandySports.com will recognize who the site publishers believed were the top five contributors to each victory in a feature we call, The Five Anchors. However, with the Commodores winning its long awaited sixth victory of the season, VandySports.com presents a special sixth anchor.
VandySports.com's Six Anchors for the victory over Kentucky are:
BRANDON BARDEN
Position: Tight End Game Stats: Caught four passes for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Why he gets an Anchor:
JARED HAWKINS
Position: Running Back Game Stats: Gained 84 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Also caught four passes for 49 yards.
Why he gets an Anchor:
CHRIS MARVE
Position: Middle Linebacker Game Stats: Registered five total tackles and a quarterback hurry.
Why he gets an Anchor:
D.J. MOORE
Position: Cornerback/Receiver Game Stats: Picked off two passes, giving him six interceptions on the year. Caught three passes on offense for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Also registered four tackles.
Why he gets an Anchor:
CHRIS NICKSON
Position: Quarterback Game Stats: Completed 15-of-27 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns. Also gained 118 yards on 20 carries.
