Recruiting Special: Safety in Numbers
As the University of Southern California football team enters the home stretch of their 2008 season, so too does their 2009 recruiting class.
With 16 players verbally committed to the Trojans - nine of those likely defensive recruits - there remains a maximum of nine more players that Pete Carroll & Co. can bring in to this class.
With Kevin Ellison graduating to the NFL, and the strong possibility of Taylor Mays following suit, the 2009 class needs to have a wealth of talented safeties capable of making an immediate impact. With one true safety, and as many as three other recruits already verbally committed talented enough to play centerfield, the Trojans seem eager to sign at least one more safety.
