Iowa City (Ia.) quarterback A.J. Derby can certainly understand why most onlookers would assume him to be a University of Iowa lean.

His father, John, was a captain for the Hawkeyes back in 1991 and his older brother Zach is a freshman tight end for the black and gold. However, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound standout insists he's playing no favorites.
