Geathers makes decision
After weeks of speculation, Carver's Bay lineman Kwame Geathers announced Friday afternoon that he will sign his letter of intent to play for Georgia.
The 6-foot-6, 320-pounder chose the Bulldogs over Tennessee and Central Florida.
His decision now pushes the number of signees for 2009 to 19, with the possibility of adding one more should Plant (Fla.) tight end Orson Charles choose the Bulldogs in the upcoming weeks.
Georgia has been recruiting the 6-foot-5, 320-pounder for some time now. Geathers made trips to Athens to visit his big brother Robert, who played for the Bulldogs from 2000-2003. It was then that he connected with recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach Rodney Garner. The two seemed to hit it off and have kept in touch since then.
He becomes the second member of the Geathers family to play for Georgia, following in the footsteps of older brother Robert who lettered with the Bulldogs from 2000-2003.
Stay tuned to UGASports for further updates on Geathers and his decision to play for head coach Mark Richt.
