Aggies get after it on spring's second day
Texas A&M hit the practice fields for the second day of spring drills with another two-a-day practice. The Aggies began the day at 6:10 a.m. with an hour-long practice and another 1 ½ hours in the afternoon at 4 p.m. in the indoor facility.
On the second day, however, the team seemed to get after it a little more despite not playing in pads.
"I thought the tempo was really good. I thought we practiced with some speed. I thought out defense had the upper edge," said A&M head coach Mike Sherman. "This morning we did the passing game for the most part and then this afternoon it was more run. We don't have the pads on and there is a lot of rush offensively and a lot more for them to maneuver. I thought our tempo was good and I thought our defense shined this afternoon."
In each practice this season, the Aggie coaches are keeping score of the practices with either the offense or defense winning at the end of the day. The defense won for the second day in a row, and they went into the locker room while the offense ran wind sprints.
