Freshmen WR's making early impact
Six months after signing two big-time receiving recruits, Trooper Taylor finally got to see them in action on Wednesday.
Auburn's receivers coach said freshmen DeAngelo Benton and Emory Blake both made plays in their first practice with the Tigers, two of just three true freshmen working with the veterans.
Taylor warns, though, that if they don't continue to make plays they won't see the field much as freshmen.
"That's what they're told after every day," Taylor said. "I try to put as much pressure and I told you guys in the spring, those other guys are going to get their chance in the spring. When we get out here, it's going to be a chance for these new guys to show us what they've got. I'm holding true to my word."
Blake said he had to make adjustments during his first day, but thought it went well. The biggest thing, he said, is learning the up-tempo pace and becoming better versed in the playbook.
The Texas native said he felt uneasy going into his first practice. He credited veterans Quindarius Carr and Terrell Zachery with smoothing his transition.
