Cousins, Nichol tandem works well against Michigan
The competition between Michigan State sophomore quarterbacks Keith Nichol and Kirk Cousins came to an end before Saturday's game against archrival Michigan and while neither quarterback won the job, their combined efforts were a big reason why the Spartans defeated the Wolverines 26-20.
"I went up to him (Cousins) before the game, before we were walking over here and I said this is going to take both of us and I don't care whose in there," Nichol said. "We just need to come out with a win. You do your thing and I'm going to do mine and we're going to come out with a win. I don't care, give it all you have every play. I mean, we're together. This competition is over, we're a tandem, we're a team. We play for each other, we play for each other's family. This is a family to a core, to a T."
