Practice Insider: Johnson, Armstead on road back
Heading into USC's first empty weekend of the season, the Trojans aren't focusing so much on the past. It's not gloating after a 30-3 win over Cal or a No. 7 ranking in the Top 25.
No, this is a team ready to get better, and Tuesday, too big weapons took steps towards getting on the field soon.
USC head coach Pete Carroll said wide receiver Ronald Johnson and defensive end Armond Armstead are both on slate to play when USC travels to face Notre Dame a week from Saturday.
Johnson made the biggest strides, returning to practice in a limited role, working some in one-on-one and seven-on-seven drills.
