FNL: Ray stands out

The talent level at Friday Night Lights was extraordinary and Rivals.com recruiting analyst JC Shurburtt said he was mostly impressed with the depth at each position. Wide receiver was loaded at the event and one of the prospects that really stood out was Tallahassee North Florida Christian recruit Melvin Ray.

"Florida is probably in pretty good shape but you never know," Shurburtt said. "He's a real smooth athlete. He has good hands. He's a guy I have liked for a while. He was clearly the best wide receiver at the Tallahassee Nike Camp. I'd stop short of saying he was clearly the best on Friday but he was one of the best."

Ray, a 6-foot-2, 191-pound four-star recruit, attended Friday Night Lights and then was at Florida State's Seminole Showcase on Saturday. He said he will attend Alabama's camp with teammates this weekend but that it looks like it will come down to either the Gators or Seminoles.
