KU survives Trojan scare
Sundays much anticipated match up between No. 4 Kansas (7-0; 0-0) and USC (6-2; 0-0) played out just as many had expected. After trading baskets for most of the first half, the Jayhawks trailed the Trojans, 27-25, at the half. Not much changed in the second half, as neither team could gain control of the contest. However, Bill Self's squad made several key plays down the stretch and received some clutch shooting from Mario Chalmers. When the final buzzer sounded, Kansas had escaped with a 69-55 win.
KU's much anticipated showdown against USC was just what the doctor ordered. Playing a grind-in-out game on the road is never as easy task, but Self's squad made some key plays down the stretch and improved to 7-0 on the year.
