Macklin's knee pain a serious issue
Sometime very soon, Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan might have to make a difficult choice: keep playing center Vernon Macklin, who is suffering from tendonitis and bone spurs in his right knee, and hope the pain eventually goes away, or sit him for a bit until he begins to feel better.
"He's full go to practice and to play, but he's dealing with pretty significent pain and probably doesn't have the same explosion he normally would have," Donovan said Monday. "Probably a decision we'll have to make is, what do we do with him going forward. Because it's an issue where it's hard to get a guy better and improve a guy when he's not at practice and he's limited."
