Top QB prospect talks to Saban

The departure of backup quarterback Phillip Sims from Alabama left the Crimson Tide with a bit of uncertainty at the position behind starter AJ McCarron. However, the departure of Sims created an opportunity for future recruits to come in and compete for early playing time in the near future.

Friday four-star quarterback Connor Mitch talked with UA head coach Nick Saban about that opportunity. Saban mentioned Sims was departing due to family reasons and a want to play closer to his ailing father in Virginia. While Mitch does not wish any ill towards another person, he said the situation creates an exciting chance to play early at Alabama.
