Kevin Prince looks to rebound

The offense lost some momentum when Kevin Prince went down with his injury after leading UCLA to victory with a gritty performance against a tough Tennessee defense in Knoxville, no less. The high of that victory was tempered when it was learned that Prince broke his jaw and would be out for at least three weeks.

Fast forward to last Saturday against a very tough Oregon Duck football team, Prince made his return and by his own admission it wasn't his best effort. You have to like that about a quarterback who is willing to shoulder much of the blame when his team lost.

Hopefully for UCLA fans Prince will bounce back against Cal because a solid effort by the young Bruin quarterback will be needed if the Bruins are able to pull off the upset today against Cal at the Rose Bowl when the two teams kickoff at 12:30 PM PST.

Even though Prince had to fight the elements this week as it rained for two of three practices, he feels good about his week leading up to Cal.

"I feel like overall it's been better," Prince said. "I feel more comfortable in the pocket and I'm taking more time looking at the defense and really focusing on where to go with the ball. I feel I like I have been more accurate this week. It has been a definite improvement from last Saturday."
