Offense looking for a spark

Just one big play and the flood gates will open.

At least that's what Auburn center Ryan Pugh is hoping will happen Saturday against Ole Miss.

"I think it's something we have to have early, something that happened often in the first five games," Pugh said.

Actually, in the first six games Auburn's offense produced 34 plays of 20 or more yards, an average of 5.7 per game. In the last two, AU's offense has produced just one big play -- a 37-yard pass from Chris Todd to Darvin Adams against Kentucky.

Pugh admitted the offense is becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of production. After averaging 41.4 points through the first five games, AU has averaged just 15.7 the last three -- all losses.
