Verner breaks record

Bruin senior cornerback Alterraun Verner went out on his final home game as a Bruin the way he came in making big plays, including a pick six. The talented corner broke the UCLA school record for career picks for touchdowns when he accomplished his fourth against ASU. He tied the school record for total defensive touchdowns with five. The other came on a blocked field goal that he scooped up and went housebound.

"It's great getting that win and trying to fathom it all looking around seeing all the championship banners and looking at the fans as they were exiting," Verner said. "I just tried gather it all one more time because it will probably be the last time I get to entertain them in the Rose Bowl or even just being in that venue. It was definitely something special and I'm glad that we were able to go out with a win."
