Mississippi State jumped back into the win column this past Saturday with a victory over LSU and hope to keep the trend going tonight on the road at No. 18 Vanderbilt at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs suffered a heartbreaker their last venture to Memorial Coliseum dropping an 86-85 overtime thriller.
Nashville has not been kind to MSU losing 15 of its last 20 contests there. The Commodores hold a commanding lead in the series with a 71-43 edge however State on their matchup last season 73-66 in Starkville. The two teams have split the last four meetings.
The Bulldogs enter tonight's game with a 4-2 mark in the Southeastern Conference and are 16-5 overall. Mississippi State is shooting 44-percent on the year and averaging 73.4 points per game. They are second in the league in 3-point percentage (37.7) despite only making just 44 of their last 155 shots in the last seven games. The Bulldogs continue to top the SEC in most defensive categories including field goal percentage allowed (36.5), blocked shots (8.3), defensive rebounds (30.3) and defensive rebound percentage (0.72).
