Tide Camp: Day Three

Elite prospects continued to arrive and depart the Crimson Tide's final summer camp of 2010 and nearly all prospects involved in the event have been blown away by the level of competition and overall talent at the event.

Elite safety works with Tide coaches

Valley safety Erique Florence was easily among the most highly-rated prospects in attendance at the Tide's camp and the nation's No. 2 safety was impressed with the level of competition he faced at the event.

"I got here Monday night and will leave on Wednesday night," Florence said. "It was a good workout. The drills were intense and there was lots of great competition. I got a little worn out at one point because it was so hot but it was fun and a good challenge for me."

"There were so many guys I know at the camp. LaMichael Fanning, Pat Milliner and lots of other guys I know were all there and we got to hang out a little bit. This was about as many big-time players as I've ever seen in one place at a camp."

Florence, the nation's No. 68 overall prospect according to Rivals.com, was pleased to get a chance to work with head coach Nick Saban one on one during individual defensive back drills.

"I worked with Coach Pruitt and Coach Saban on some drills. It was really great getting to learn from those guys. They really know how to get the best out of you."

While a decision could still be months away, the Crimson Tide find themselves tied with their in-state rivals for the lead in the race for Florence's services.

"Right now, Alabama and Auburn are tied for first and ahead of everybody else. I will probably decide between those two sometime later this year. I like things about both schools and I really go back and forth every day on who I like better."

Junior OL makes strong showing

"I was only able to be there for Sunday but I wish I could have stayed for the whole thing. It was a really great event. In my opinion, it was a little bit more intense than the OL/DL camp they had earlier this summer. There was a lot more really great talent at this camp."

"I won all my one-on-one competition drills and was getting a lot of great feedback from the coaches. The whole staff was really helpful and really positive and it was just great to be around."

"Before I left, I got a chance to talk with Coach Smart and Coach McElwain. They said they really liked what they saw out of me this summer at the camps and they are going to be keeping an eye on me this fall. All I can really do is keep working hard and playing my best and hopefully that will be enough to earn an offer from them."

"I'm going to try to go to every home game this fall and maybe even some away games too. It should be a pretty fun season."
