Dawson back from Oregon visit

Autzen Stadium was alive and buzzing Saturday night as the #4-ranked Oregon Ducks hosted the #9-ranked Stanford Cardinal. The crowd was loud throughout the entire game and it made an impression on at least one recruit that was visiting Eugene.

Four star Linebacker Lamar Dawson (Danville, KY) is Rivals' 101st-ranked player in the nation and was on hand to take in what proved to be a great game. Duck Sports Authority caught up with Dawson got his thoughts on the Ducks.

"My trip was good. I liked it a lot," said Dawson. "The highlight was just watching the game and the whole atmosphere"

At 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, Dawson is physical presence in the middle. He is an athletic player with a good burst of speed and a nose for the ball. Ranked as the number one prospect in the state of Kentucky, Dawson recorded a staggering 176 tackles and two interceptions as a junior last season. His offer list is impressive but Dawson has cut his it to just seven teams. Oregon, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Tennessee, and USC are still hoping to ink his signature in February. Dawson says that he will probably cut his list down again before he decides but is not sure when that will be.

Dawson says that distance will not play a factor in his decision and that it is more about a feel.
