Six-pack with Gamecock Central's Scott Hood
South Carolina blew a big second-half lead at Kentucky last week on the heels of beating top-ranked Alabama the weekend before. The Gamecocks come to Nashville not only on the heels of this disappointment, but also with the apparent loss of star tailback Marcus Lattimore as well. How will it all affect Carolina? VandySports.com's Chris Lee asks these questions, and several more, to Gamecock Central's Scott Hood.
1. Two weeks ago, Carolina got maybe the biggest regular-season win in program history by knocking off No. 1 Alabama. Last week, they inexplicably blew a big second-half lead at Kentucky. What will the Gamecocks' state of mind be heading into Nashville?
Pretty good. The Gamecocks had a pretty good week of practice and it appears they've put the UK loss behind them. They're well aware of the success Vandy has enjoyed against USC in recent years. Some people were fearful USC would suffer letdown at UK, but they played well in the first half.
