VIDEO: Freshmen agility, O-line competition

EAST LANSING - Until pads are permitted during practice for the first time this Thursday, the Michigan State football team will be limited in what they are able to during training camp.

Even so, coaches, veterans, and underclassmen alike are working tirelessly to prepare for what they hope is a run to a second consecutive Big Ten championship.

If the Spartans are going to build on the success from last year's 11-2 season, they will have to find a way to upgrade the talent at both offensive tackle spots and center.

Click below to watch practice footage of young Michigan State offensive linemen working toward that end during the practice No. 2 of training camp Monday afternoon.

Prior to practice footage of Fou Fonoti, Dan France, Skyler Burkland, Travis Jackson, Blake Treadwell and all of the other offensive linemen competing to earn starting jobs at right tackle, center, and left tackle respectively, there is a two-minute clip of Michigan State State's true freshmen competing against one another in agility drills while upperclassmen look on and cheer.

Keep an eye on Michigan State's talented freshman defensive line class. Joel Heath, Damon Knox, Shilique Calhoun, Brandon Clemons all show good athletic ability for their size.
