JT3 pre-BET

March 7, 2012 - It's that time of year again, when Madison Square Garden hosts the BIG EAST's teams and their fans for tournament action. Commencing yesterday, the hoops confab continues through Saturday, when a champion will be crowned.

Georgetown's Hoyas, by way of Pitt's defeat of St. John's yesterday, face the Panthers at 2:30p today. Watch it on ESPN, or listen via ESPN 980. By the way, G'Town is ranked fifth in the BIG EAST Tournament, while Pitt is 13th.

Head coachJohn Thompson III spoke to media members Thursday, where he discussed: Tourney quick turnaround/preparation, moving on from Marquette loss, mental challenges of tourney play, Marquette's pressure, Jason Clark's first team all-league election, [db]Otto Porter not making All-Rookie, needed free throw improvement, free throw drilling and superstitions, layout of BET, being a teacher and the development of players, Henry Sims' development, crowd fluctuations in BET play, prep for Pitt, watching Pitt/SJU, and practice in NYC.

That's certainly a slew of interesting topics broached. We have the session here.
