MSU closing in on Erie (Pa.) standouts?

Two of the players that Michigan State is looking forward to having on campus in the near future are quarterback Damion Terry and safety Delton Williams of Erie Cathedral Prep High School in Pennsylvania. has the details about these plan "A" Spartan recruits.

A few weeks ago the Spartans hosted the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Terry on campus at a junior day function. It was at that event that the Spartans extended him a scholarship offer. The Michigan State scholarship was the first for Terry and he has since seen his recruiting stock rise significantly. We talked with him about his recruitment.

"I have offers from Michigan State, Boston College, Illinois and Duke," Terry said. "I am heading back to Michigan Stat next Thursday (April 5th)."

Terry will be in East Lansing to check out a Spartan practice and develop additional rapport with the coaching staff. In addition, he also will not be coming to Michigan State alone.

"My teammate Delton Williams is coming with me, they offered him as a safety. I really like the Michigan State program a lot. I have a good relationship with Coach (Mark) Staten and Coach Dantonio. I was unable to meet with Coach Dantonio in person when I was at the junior day because he was out of town. I will talk with him before practice when I am there. I just really like everything about Michigan State," Terry said. asked Terry what his strengths are as a player and what he feels he still needs to work on before he gets to teh next level.

"My strengths are my arm strength and that I am mobile. I would like to work on my accuracy which I am sure very quarterback wants to improve on."

Over the last few days there has been some buzz on social media sites like Twitter that Terry could be close to making a decision and the Spartans are in a strong position. asked Terry about this and he was not willing to tip his hand, but he did state that he could make a commitment to a school if he feels it is the right fit. will be sure to follow-up with Terry soon after he checks out Michigan State on April 5th. If he does decide to make his college decision and become a member of the Green and White, he will give the Spartan their most athletic signal-caller in over a decade.
