Learning curve steep for young MSU wide receivers
EAST LANSING - The wide receivers working hard to fill the shoes of departed seniors B.J. Cunningham, Keshawn Martin, and Keith Nichol have the natural ability to perform at a high level according to second-year Michigan State assistant coach Terrence Samuel.
"They can be really good," said Samuel. "We have a 4.3 guy and a couple of 4.4 guys. We could be faster than the group we had last year. I am excited about the group, potentially."
At present, however, Michigan State wide receivers are still in the infancy of their development.
"It is a blank sheet of paper," Samuel said. "I have just put 'A' on it and I am trying to get to 'Z.' Even as we install the offense were are trying to install it so they pick up on it, they feel comfortable and they have success."
