Offensive tackle likes Washington
Alex Redmond says he doesn't have any favorites but when you dig a little bit deeper it sounds like two schools are in good shape. One of those schools is Washington so what have the Huskies done to impress him?
For Redmond, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound tackle from Los Alamitos (Calif.), academics are very important. That's a major reason the Huskies are in great shape.
"I'm very interested in Washington," Redmond said this week. "They have a very good business school and that's what I want to get into.
"Plus there are only two teams in the Pac-12 that have won national championships and they're one of them."
In spite of his interest Redmond says he has never visited Washington. That will change this summer when he plans on making it up to Seattle to check the school and surrounding area out.
He said the last time he spoke to a coach from Washington was a couple of weeks back so the school has stayed in good contact with him.
Washington, Arizona State, Boston College, Washington State, Colorado and San Diego State have all offered the California tackle. He claims no favorites but notes that two schools have impressed him.
"I don't have any favorites but some schools have impressed me a little more than others," he noted. "Washington has a great business school and a great team and Boston College has a great business school and a bunch of linemen in the NFL. But I'm still open to everyone."
Redmond said he also plans to visit Boston College, Arizona State and Colorado this summer.
