We here at Warchant.com know that our members have busy schedules. It's hard to keep track of every event of every day leading up to a Seminole football Saturday. That's why we've created this convenient feature, a one-stop shop where the big happenings and developments of the week all are laid out prior to kickoff with this week's opponent: South Florida.
Each week of preparation holds different news items. Sometimes the headlines are depth-chart related. Other weeks see injuries as the hot-button issues. This week, FSU news has been a renewed focus around the program since the 2009 loss to the Bulls.
In 2009 Florida State was riding high as it entered its home matchup with South Florida after a 54-28 win over then-No. 7 BYU. The Seminoles came out flat on offense and fell to USF 17-7 in Doak Campbell Stadium.
FSU enters this weekend's 6 p..m. tilt riding another wave of momentum after a 49-37 win in a top-10 matchup with Clemson last weekend in front of a national television audience. Throughout the week the veteran players have talked about the feeling they felt after dropping the 2009 game to USF, and vowed to not overlook the Bulls this time around.
FSU enters the game relatively healthy for a second straight week. Jarred Haggins, who missed the Clemson game with an undisclosed injury, was full-go in practice throughout the week and is not listed on this week's injury report.
Bjoern Werner suffered a hand injury against the Tigers, but was able to finish the game and didn't miss a single practice this week.
True freshman defensive back Colin Blake will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury that will require surgery. Blake was already in the midst of a redshirt season, but the injury just confirmed he won't see the field this season.
