The Hoop Feed: 'It doesn't get better than this'

EAST LANSING - In 30 years of coaching at Michigan State, including the last 18 as head coach, Tom Izzo has never been a part of something like this.

Izzo's teams have been No. 1 in the past, and they have beaten No. 1. He has won a National Championship and taken six teams to the Final Four.

But Tuesday night's game between No. 4 Michigan State and No. 1 Indiana will mark the first time that two top five teams have played at the Breslin Center.

"Well guys it doesn't get any better or bigger than this," Izzo said, as he began to address media on Monday during his weekly press conference. "How many times do two top five teams get to play on somebody's campus? Maybe in the NCAA Tournament. But it doesn't happen very often on somebody's campus."

Only eight times since 1996 have teams ranked in the top four played in a regular season, on-campus game this late in the year.

Izzo is making sure his players are aware of the moment.
