Langford making most of opportunity at tailback

EAST LANSING - Jeremy Langford (6-0, 206) entered training camp determined to earn a role in the backfield rotation this fall.

So far, so good.

"Everybody gets an opportunity, and this is my chance," said Langford. "I didn't come here for no reason."

With redshirt freshman Riley Bullough sidelined by an undisclosed injury, Langford made the most of his reps with the ones during the first jersey scrimmage. He finished the day with 30 yards on 8 carries and a touchdown against a Top 10 defense.

"There is always something you could have done better," said Langford, "but when I watched it, I felt pretty good about the scrimmage. Overall, it was pretty good."
